Whether my clients are gestating babies or aspects of themselves, I meet them exactly where they are to offer my full presence, knowledge of alignment-focused asana, and assistance in accessing the layers of wisdom already within them.
Beyond technique and heart-centered teaching, my intention is to create an environment where yoga is accessible to those who are open to discovering its many benefits. Meeting students on the mat allows the full expression of my passion for conscious living and invites me to deepen the practice of what I teach.
San Francisco -- Prenatal Yoga at The Mindful Body -- Mondays @ 6:30 PMDiscover and integrate tools that assist in navigating conception, gestation, birth, motherhood, and beyond. Luxuriate and feel strengthened within this community of women walking alongside you during this incredibly potent time.
Is this class only for pregnant women?
You will likely be in the company of many mamas with babies in their bellies. We also welcome women who are in the process of conceiving and those who feel called to conceive, gestate, birth, and nurture dreams and aspects of themselves. We warmly welcome partners of pregnant mamas to practice with us as well.
How is a prenatal class different than a regular yoga class?
Prenatal classes address and support the unique physical and emotional shifts that occur before and during pregnancy and birth.
• Bond with baby.
• Cultivate body awareness.
• Build physical strength safely.
• Move with increased flexibility safely.
• Develop breath awareness.
• Increase circulation.
• Cultivate connections with other pregnant women.
• Prepare for pregnancy and birth.
• Prepare for motherhood.
• Relieve common pregnancy discomforts.
• Relax and reduce stress.
• Learn more about local resources that support conception, pregnancy, birth, motherhood, and self-discovery.
How is this class different from other prenatal classes at other studios?
A yoga class is as unique as the individual leading the class. Join us for a few classes to determine if it’s a good fit for you.
The foundation of my personal practice is prenatal yoga. For over a decade, two of my passions have been supporting mothers and advocating for the improvement of maternity care. Our two children are my gurus, continually inspiring me to shift and grow on and off the yoga mat.
New to yoga? Or an experienced yogini?
This class is tailored to meet you exactly where you are. Not in the past. Not in the future. Right here, right now, which may change from moment to moment.
Glossy magazine covers may perpetuate the idea that yoga is reserved only for the ultra-flexible and ultra-strong. While yoga can certainly facilitate physical flexibility and strength, the extremes of each are not necessary, and they are not the only underpinnings of yoga practice.
Each aspect of this class is an invitation to tune in to your unique body in a particular moment, to listen to what it needs, and to move or not move accordingly. Perhaps this means coming into only one version of the shapes I offer in my demonstrations. Perhaps this means luxuriating in certain poses longer than others.
However we choose to move and breathe, we do so with the understanding that pregnancy increases hormones in our bodies which facilitate flexibility. This newfound flexibility invites us to listen to our bodies more deeply, perhaps more deeply than ever.
The path to pregnancy and the path of pregnancy is an adventurous ride. Let’s come together and support each other in the process of gestation, arriving as mirrors, reflecting the strength and magnificence within each of us in this sacred space.

San Francisco -- Substitute Teaching at The Mindful Body
The Mindful Body is where it all began, where I uncovered a deep appreciation for yoga and where I completed my yoga teacher training.
I substitute for Kari Marble’s Prenatal Yoga classes.
Because substitute teaching can occur with less advance notice, I post these dates and times only on my Facebook page, not here on my website. “Like” my Facebook page (in the footer below) to receive the most up-to-date information about when I’ll be subbing.
